Rulemaking Update: 2010 Water Quality Permit Fee Increase

On August 18, 2010, the Environmental Quality Commission (EQC) approved fee increases, effective September 1, 2010, for permits issued by DEQ's Water Quality Division. All National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) individual and general permit fees will increase by three percent. The increase helps cover increasing program costs of the water quality permit program. Suction dredge (700-PM) permits are exempt from the fee increase because those fees are set in law and can only be changed by the Legislature.
