Overview
The 1200-Z permit regulates industrial facilities that discharge
stormwater from a point source to surface waters or to conveyance
systems that discharge to surface waters. Please note that this permit
does not apply to facilities that discharge stormwater to the Columbia
Slough Watershed; these facilities are permitted under the 1200-COLS
permit.
Duration of Public Comment Period
The 1200-Z permit provides the public with an opportunity to review all
renewal and new permit applications. The standard public
review period for new and renewal permits is a minimum of 14 days.
During this period, the public may review the permit
application and the applicant's
Stormwater Pollution Control Plan (SWPCP) at the appropriate DEQ office
listed below. Please note that effective January 1, 2010, DEQ's
Western Region office returned to the standard public review period for
renewal applications because the majority of them have been processed.
(The previous use of an extended 30-day period was provided to
accomodate the potential need of an interested party to review multiple
notices within a 14-day period.)
Where Can I Send Comments?
Please provide comments by letter, e-mail, or fax using the
information listed below. DEQ's stormwater technical staff will review
your comments and will inform you of the action(s) taken in response to
the comments.
Special Instructions
-
DEQ can only consider water quality-related comments on the
permit application and SWPCP. DEQ cannot act on land use-related
comments because they are outside the agency's jurisdiction.
-
Please call the DEQ office before traveling to that office to
make sure the documents are available.
-
Please be aware that if you provide comments by e-mail and there
is a delay between servers, your e-mail may not be received before
the deadline and your comments will not be considered.
